Cheikh Faye

Cheihk Faye is a Managing Director of Global Emerging Markets. From Dubai and Johannesburg, he oversees African and Middle Eastern markets. Mr. Faye is a Managing Partner of Questar Capital, a Dubai-based advisory firm. Prior to launching Questar with Emirati partners, Mr. Faye was a Senior Managing Director with Minneapolis-based USBank. Over 6 years, Mr. Faye managed all Asset-Backed Sales and Trading for the 5th largest financial institution in the U.S. Prior to this, Mr. Faye was Director of Capital Markets for Cendant Corporation. During his tenure, Mr. Faye helped create and manage a $12 billion off-balance sheet vehicle specialized in proprietary trading of securitized assets and treasury-based instruments. Mr. Faye spent the early years of his career on Wall Street with Prudential Securities. Mr. Faye holds a degree of mathematics and finance from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Mr. Faye also holds an executive MBA from the Wharton School.

Asif Hanafi

Asif Hanafi is an Investment Professional at Global Emerging Markets. Asif is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and recommending investments to senior management. Prior to GEM, Asif joined Havana International, Pakistan’s premier luxury service provider as head of group strategy and business development, directly reporting to the CEO. Asif spearheaded the company’s expansion in terms of acquiring and establishing exclusive French crystal house, Lalique. In 2006, Asif moved to Karachi, Pakistan where he started his career as country manager Pakistan for Telefonica O2 Asia Pacific & Middle East. Asif was responsible for defining and executing Telefonica O2s entry into the country and dealt specifically with premium PDA devices in the luxury handset market of Pakistan. Having been educated at the Inter Community School of Zurich, Asif went on to complete his bachelors at the Swiss Business School (SBS) where he read E Commerce, a degree that has left him well versed in online technologies, IT products and corresponding services. Asif’s time in Switzerland, Singapore, United Kingdom, France and Pakistan has meant that he is fluent in German, English and Urdu and he also enjoys a fundamental understanding of written and spoken French.

Mustapha Raddi

Mustapha Raddi is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and structuring public and private investments. Prior to joining GEM, he was a sell side analyst on pan European equities at Vantage Capital Markets in London. He spent a year as commodities trader for the BSA Group in London and was part of IBM PCD as Sales Executive EMEA in Paris. Mustapha holds a Master Degree in finance from the Management school of Paris. He is fluent in English, French, Arabic and can read and understands Spanish.

Haykel Hajjaji

Haykel Hajjaji is a Managing Director of Global Emerging Markets. Prior to joining GEM, Mr. Hajjaji was a senior associate in the New York and Paris offices of international law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. Over 8 years, Mr. Hajjaji advised in connection with M & A, Private Equity and Capital Markers transactions totaling $50bn in deal value. He notably advised Lafarge in its $15bn acquisition of Orascom Building Materials from Orascom Construction Industries in 2007, Rexel in its $4.5bn sale of Hagemeyer's assets to Sonepar in 2008, PPR in connection with the US$1.4bn IPO of CFAO in 2009 and Cap Gemini in connection with its $1bn issuance of convertible bonds in 2009. Mr. Hajjaji holds a Master of Laws degree from New York University School of Law and a Post Graduate Degree in Business Law and Economics from the University of Paris I, La Sorbonne.
